This book was first published in 1894 in London and was so popular, a second edition was published in the United States and Canada. It is still available today, being most recently published as an ebook in 2014.  The book describes some of the great achievements of 19th century British engineers. The four topics included in the subtitle were selected by the author because of the striking features of construction achievement.  Included are beautifully etched illustrations of many of the engineering triumphs.
