Epitome, 1953

Lehigh University’s student yearbook, The Epitome, was established in 1875.  The early years reflect an exploratory time in the lives of students on campus. The publication encouraged the literary talents, sporting competitions, and academic accomplishments of the students. As the years passed, the acerbic literary vignettes dropped out for a more serious student demeanor. This particular Epitome illustrates the Lehigh career of this exhibition’s donor, Alfred J. Barcan, Class of 1953.
