With its charming illustrations accompanying musical scores of beloved nursery rhymes,  The Baby’s Opera was immensely popular. Parents and children alike loved the whimsical illustrations and enjoyed reading the books together. The Baby’s Opera is an example of the transition in children’s literature from books that were meant to instruct to books that were meant to entertain.
