Leo A. Luttringer.

Pennsylvania Birdlife. Harrisburg: Pennsylvania Game Commission, 1959.

This popular birding book includes descriptions of the game and non-game birds of Pennsylvania, in addition to a "how-to" manual for getting into bird-watching and appreciating birds. In this revised and enlarged fourth edition, the author states that suburban life attracted people to "their feathered neighbors" and increased the demand for more information and education about coexistence. Thus, the Game Commission has published popular works like this on ornithology to fulfill that demand. Almost a fifty year old handbook, Pennsylvania Birdlife is still valuable to the state's conservationists and bird enthusiasts.
