The Ibis. A Magazine of General Ornithology.

[London]: Published for the British Ornithologists' Union by Academic Press. 1859- .

Presently subtitled the International Journal of Avian Science, it was one of the first scientific journals dedicated to the study of ornithology. It has been published continuously since 1859 by the British Ornithologists Union and its successors, covering subjects ranging from ecology to behavior to new species. This volume was edited by Philip Lutley Sclater, an attorney and ornithologist whose study of birds began as a hobby.
