Catherine L. Barlieb.

Bethlehem's Birds as I Found Them: 1933-1962. Introduction and Incidence Table of Composite Bethlehem Records by Robert P. Snyder. Bethlehem, Penn.: Moravian College Conservation Association, 1965.

Barlieb condensed her passion for 29 years of bird watching into this 63-page pamphlet. She was known as the "Bird Lady" in Bethlehem where she organized junior Audubon clubs, took long walks in the vicinity for bird watching and wrote down her observations in detail.

The book reflects her energy and unconditional love for identifying, describing and chronicling approximately 210 bird species around the city. She died in January 1969, leaving numerous notebooks and journals detailing her bird watching experiences. Her personal papers are now preserved in the Bethlehem Area Public Library.
