Private Mailing Card ,1898-1901

An 1898 Act of Congress reduced the postcard postage cost from 2 cents to one cent. This created increased demand for postcards and resulted in the establishment of new publishers. These cards were smaller in size, printed on lightly colored paper and had “Private Mailing Card” printed on the backs.
