Bridge Postcards from the David Guise and Lehigh Collections

Collection of Bridge Postcards, depicting various bridges in the United States, Scotland, Canada, and China, published between 1910 and 1970 documenting building and design of structures that connect land and people. This is a small but visually rich record of monuments of structural engineering.

David Guise, a civil engineer, collected anything and everything about the design and construction of bridges. In 2017 he donated to Lehigh his 30 linear feet of rare books, pamphlets, subject files, photographs, and postcards dating from the 1850s to 2000s.
