John W. Fisher's medal.

 

John Fritz was world renowned as an engineer and inventor. In esteem, five engineering societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical & Petroleum Engineers, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers created in 1902 the John Fritz Medal to be awarded annually in his honor. Among the many distinguished recipients are three alumni from Lehigh: 1995 Lynn S. Beedle, PhD'52; 2000 John W. Fisher, PhD'64; 2005 George J. Tamaro, MS'61.
