-Crimean Hospital

In response to Florence Nightingale's reports from the battlefields of the Crimean War about the inhumane conditions there, the British government appointed the famous engineer IKB to design and build a prefabricated hospital to be shipped to Renkioi (i.e. Erenkoy, Canakkale-Turkey). Displayed here are the specifications and construction plans for the prefabricated hospital that was manufactured, shipped and hastily built. The structure was disassembled and sold in pieces at the location at the end of the Crimean War in 1856.
