Paul Frederick Benz and Lehigh University Mining Engineering Department. Mining Inspection Trip, Summer 1922.

This collection of photographs depicts a pioneering 3,100-mile long field trip made in 1922 by Lehigh’s Mining Engineering faculty and students. The students and faculty inspected assorted mines and civil engineering structures in Canada and the northern United States.  Besides the 127 black and white photographs, the collection also includes one area map that shows the roads taken and mines visited, and two letters that give details about the album. The album was assembled by Paul Frederick Benz, Class of 1922, who also took most of the photographs.
