Richard Hawley Tucker, 1859-1952

 

Tucker graduated from Lehigh with Civil Engineering degree in 1879 and accepted the position of Assistant Astronomer at Dudley Observatory, New York. He then came back to Lehigh as an instructor in Mathematics and Astronomy from 1883-1884. Later he became the Astronomer at Lick Observatory, Mt. Hamilton, California. Some of Tucker's personal papers are housed in Special Collections.
