Enter the ground floor

The first thing you will notice are the five display cases within the arched wall niches. These cases are part of the Special Collections exhibit that begins with the two vitrines on the first floor. Exhibit material also lines the wooden walls opposite the cases, on either side of the cafe.

Walk into Lucy's Cafe

Originally the lower level of the 1878 Rotunda, this space was converted during the 2007 renovation into a fully functioning cafe. An additional exhibit display case can be found to your left, along with a bulletin board. Around the outside of the cafe are magazines and quiet nooks in which to relax or study.

Outside the Cafe

Accessed via stairs or lift to either side of the display cases are the ground floor's split stacks. This architectural features allows for double the amount of books to be stored in the library. Here you will find journals, art books, and microfilm.
