First Edition. A radical novel of industrial unrest in the Pennsylvania and Ohio steel regions. The principal author, W.E. Trautmann, was the founding General Secretary of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). The events described in the novel take place in 1902-1909, the years of greatest IWW activity in the Alleghenies.
