Charles J. Bready was a Methodist Episcopal minister. Red Alley, his only novel, is the name of the street where the novel’s protagonist, Jack Armstrong, lived. Set in a New England textile factory town during a time of labor strikes, the novel has an anti-communist and anti-strike theme.
