Henry Ford (1863-1947): Automobile Industry Entrepreneur

Ford is considered one of America’s leading businessmen. He created the famous Ford Model T in 1908 - a relatively inexpensive and reliable automobile for its time. He developed the assembly line method of production which revolutionized the industry. The Ford Motor Company, established in 1908, sold millions of cars. Ford became world-renowned for his revolutionary vision – the manufacture of an inexpensive automobile made by skilled workers who earned steady wages. The affordable vehicle encouraged drivers to seek the adventure of the open road and launched America’s love affair with the automobile.
