Samuel Colt (1814-1862): Mass Market

Colt made the mass market production of the revolver commercially viable. The forefront manufacturing methods were interchangeable parts and the exploiting of the assembly line concept.  His design of revolver was a more practical adaptation of Elisha Collier’s revolving flintlock. The Colt revolver was progress in percussion technology.
