Observations with the Zenith telescope - title page.

Results of observations with the Zenith telescope, from September 11, 1904, to September 1, 1905. Published in South Bethlehem, Pa., 1907.

This 1907 Lehigh University publication, representing one of Lehigh's contributions to the Copernican Revolution and its aftermath, and reflecting the Tychonic grand tradition of careful observation, contains data from observations that were done in Sayre Observatory by John Hutcheson Ogburn (1868-1958).

One of the first buildings on campus, Sayre Observatory was built in 1868 for instruction in Practical Astronomy.

According to the 1869 Lehigh University Register, "the observatory contains an Equatorial, by Alvan Clark, of six inches clear aperture, and of eight feet focus; a Zenith Sector by Blunt; a superior Astronomical Clock by Wm. Bond & Sons; a Meridian Circle, and a Prismatic Sextant by Pistor and Martins".

Today, Sayre Observatory houses The Graduate Student Council.
