Plutarach. Vitae Illustrium Virorum. Rome: Ulrich Han, 1470-71.

This first printing of Plutarch's Lives is very similar in format to the previous Pliny: it has no title page and no pagination or foliation. The first owner of this book, however, tended to his responsibilities. He arranged for the appropriate initials to be added, as well as foliation (numbering by leaf rather than page), and running heads. All of these made the book easier to use. This book is also unlike the copy of the Pliny in that the marginal notes show that it was used by its owner.
