Special Collections is celebrating Lehigh's founder Asa Packer's 200th Birthday by exhibiting six unique artist books that were designed and constructed by Lehigh University students as class projects called "Asa Packer Book Project" for their Graphic Design III taught by Thom Lepley in 2003-2004 academic year. Through this graphic design project, the students were to research and study artifacts and evidence of Asa Packer's lifespan and then tell a unique story in a hand-bound artist book that would define Asa Packer and his legacy.

Lisa N. Campbell's The Multi-Dimensional Life of Asa Packer, Kiara Conde's Asa Packer: A Timeline of His Life and Work, Michael DePalma's River & Rail: The Asa Packer Story, Sean Forcine's Then & Now: A Glimpse into the Past and Present Lehigh University Athletics, Paul Kangas-Miller's Home Boy: A Senior's Sophomoric Attempt at Hip-Hop Irreverence in a Brief Beat History of Lehigh University's Founder Asa Packer, and Edward Williams' The Prominent Philanthropist: A Movie Review are on display in Special Collections, Fairchild-Martindale Library, 3rd Floor, Room 625.

Physical exhibition dates: 7/22/2005 - 1/17/2006
